Beach Police Station

Q: Now that the police station is empty, what does the city intend to do with the building?

A: The short answer? It’s too soon to say.

“Right now we are going through all the computer and phone systems to eliminate everything that will not be needed,” City Manager Mike Bonfield says. “Some connections to Public Services and the Community Center actually may run through that building. In addition, we are reviewing the remaining records to determine what needs to be saved. Once that is done, we'll decide what items have salvage value for public sale and what can be disposed of. I would expect to have that done in 30-45 days.”

After that, the city manager says, the city will secure the building “until another use is identified.”
