Density Increases in Pass-a-Grille in Theory But Not Practice

PASS-A-GRILLE – The city commission voted unanimously to allow a density increase for temporary lodging units in the area’s Community Redevelopment Area. The density increases from 30 to 50 unites per acre.

“There are no impacts,” Senior Planner Catherine Hartley said. “It’s essentially a wash.”

Hartley explained after the meeting that several of the impacted properties already exceed permitted density, so if they attempted to rebuild, the density would –in practice – increase. Additionally, the initial plans calculated the area’s acreage per acre.
