Zacquery Bogans, 3, gets into the spirit of his hot dog at Saturday’s Fun Day at the Boca Ciega Yacht Club

Ralph Schuler (47’ Catalina) was one of many sailors who offerd the curious and the sea-smitten sailboat rides at Saturday’s annual Fun Day. The event, sponsored by the Boca Ciega Yacht Club, allows the public a look inside the club. Members offered sailboat rides all afternoon and everyone who attended received free raffle tickets for prizes like dinner at Habana Cafe.

Emcee Bob Newcomb ran the raffle and made sure everyone knew how to get a free hot dog, soda, and sailboat ride. The city’s CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) members also offered a gas grill in a separate raffle. Sea Scouts, the seafaring faction of the Boy Scouts of America, escorted novice sailors to the appropriate boat.

The club offers this popular event once a year in April.
