FunDay Open House on the Waterfront
On Saturday, April 27 from 1-4 p.m., Gulfport’s Boca Ciega Yacht Club invites area residents to enjoy a free party at the club and on the bay. Free hot dogs (while supplies last), sailboat rides (first come, first served during event hours), club tours, demonstrations, exhibits, kids coloring contest (ages 1-12) and door prizes.
“People will learn about the Club’s active cruising program and its challenging racing opportunities. Of equal importance is the Club’s outreach to the community through its Sail School and Youth Sailing Program. Area teens will learn how they can join the club’s Sea Scout Boat 915 to become experienced sailors while having a lot of fun.” says Chairperson Jean Proach.
During the festivities, a membership team will be on hand to show people how easy and inexpensive it is to become a part of Boca Ciega Yacht Club and enjoy its boating, social and community service activities. Membership is open to sailboat owners, want-to-be sailboat owners and those who have a love of sailing. Rain date is Sunday, April 28.
Boca Ciega Yacht Club is located one block south of the Gulfport City Marina off 49th St. S. Turn left onto Del Rio Way to 4600 Tifton Drive S.
