Gulfport Budget Committee

Q: When do budget workshops start again? Can I volunteer for the budget committee?

A: In years past, city manager Jim O’Reilly says, council starts talking about the budget during the spring workshops (the fourth Thursday of the month)
“I anticipate city council will discuss the scheduling of budget workshops at  their organizational meeting following the city’s municipal Election,” O’Reilly told the Gabber. “Subsequently, they may elect to hold additional meetings later in the summer.”
Gulfport’s charter stipulates that the city manager give the council a proposed budget by July 15.
There is no budget committee for which to volunteer. O’Reilly suggested the question perhaps referred to “the group of citizens that I solicited input from four (4) years ago,  when I was serving in a interim capacity.”
