Q: Whatever happened to the woman who wanted to start a cat rescue in Gulfport? Will the city allow it or have they stopped it from happening?
A: The woman inquired about the cat rescue did not pursue the idea, according to city manager Jim O’Reilly.
For such a rescue to exist, the property in question would have required a zoning change, the city manager said.
“I believe the commercial property that was being considered has been sold to another buyer,” Mr. O’Reilly explained. “Therefore in this case, the city has neither allowed it nor stopped it from happening.”
