Gulfport Council Seating

Q: Why did the council rearrange its seats on the dais?

A: The recent change in seating – which placed Councilwomen Barbara Banno and Jennifer Salmon to the Mayor’s left and Vice Mayor Sam Henderson and freshmen Councilman Dan Liedtke to the Mayor’s right – stems from a 2009 council decision.

City Clerk Lesley DeMuth tells us that in 2009 the council decided that the vice mayor would sit at the mayor’s right and the most senior councilmember would sit to his left. The 2009 council also decided that the newest member would sit to the Vice Mayor’s right.
