Gulfport Councilwoman Gets New Business Process Streamlined

 

In response to Councilwoman Barbara Banno’s request that the city streamline certain processes for new businesses, the city planning department shortened public notice time frames and cleaned up other language in parts of its zoning regulations.
 

Most notably, zoning staff suggested – and council agreed – shortening the public notice time frame from 14 days to seven.
 

“I wanted to speak in favor of this ordinance. It’s something we need to do... it will certainly help those of us who are concerned with Economic Development in this city,” the Gulfport Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bob Newcomb told council.
