SPECIAL EVENTS

Mini Flea Market: Come check out the great bargains at our Mini Flea Market on Friday, May 18, 9am to 1pm. 

Voting Information: Voting information, registration and re-registration forms will be available on Fri. May 18 from 10am to noon. Take advantage of this convenient service. 

Variety Show: The month of May is Older Americans Month and the Senior Center wants to celebrate YOU!  Come to our free Variety Show on Wed. May 23 at 1:30pm in the Senior Center Dining Hall. Includes great entertainment, refreshments, door prizes and an opportunity drawing.  Our Gulfport Community will also celebrate Older Americans Month from May 21 through May 25. Look for details in the Gulfport Gabber. 

Senior Center Rays Fan Club: Come have lunch at the Senior Center Snack Bar on Wed. May 23 and stay to watch the Rays play the Blue Jays on our flat screen TV at 1:10pm. Free snacks included. It’s great fun to watch the Rays with other enthusiastic fans!

Senior Trips: Many day trips are available such as Hard Rock Casino on May 27($20) or Ybor City Tour including lunch at Gaspar’s Grotto on May 22 ($45). Call Carolyn at 347-0806 for details and info on other 1 & 2 day trips.  

Hurricane Seminar: The City of Gulfport’s annual Hurricane Seminar will be held in the Hickman Theater on Thurs. May 24th at 7pm. Meteorologist Daniel Noah will share how to best prepare for a natural disaster. Come early to receive info from the hurricane related vendors. So you won’t miss dinner, the Senior Center Snack Bar, adjacent to the Theater will be open at 5pm. They are running a special: 2 slices of pizza and a drink for $3.00.

Beach Party Bingo: Mark your calendar now for Beach Party Bingo on Wed. June 27 at 1pm. Games, refreshments, and more! Tickets: $3.00.  (No Bingo on Fri. June 29)

Senior Center Snack Bar: Lunch To Go: Enjoy your fun at the beach and pick up a boxed lunch to go at the Senior Center Snack Bar. Ham or Turkey Sandwich, Chips and Beverage only $3.00.  Call 893-2259 to place your order. 

Transportation Service: GEMS Door-to-door transportation service for Gulfport seniors 55 and over is available Mon. thru Fri. 8:15am to 4pm. Annual registration fee is $55 and each one way ride is $1. Call GEMS at 893-2242 for more info.

AARP Driving Class: are offered on the first two Tuesdays of every month at 12:45pm. Must attend both days. Call 727-341-0130 for fee and registration info.
