SPECIAL EVENTS

Hospice and Caregiving – Want to know more about what Hospice does and do you need questions answered? Join Janet Pattison on Thursday, May 23 at 1 p.m. for free info.

The City of Gulfport annual Hurricane Seminar will be held in the Catherine A. Hickman Theater on Thursday, May 23 at 7pm.  Come early (5pm-7pm) for eats at the Senior Center Snack Bar (attached to the Hickman Theater). Get 2 pieces of pizza and a soda for only $3.00.

Empowerment of Healing with Barbara Newborn - Join Barbara Newborn at The Senior Center Dining area at 5501 27th Ave. S., Gulfport on Wednesday, May 29 at 1:30 p.m. Her lecture will discuss methods and new insights into the amazing power of healing.  FREE

The Law of Attraction (Prosperity) – Wednesday, June 5 at 1 p.m. Join Life Coach, Kathy Lane, as she teaches you how to visualize what you want.  FREE

I-Scream Social – What goes excellent with ice cream?  Karaoke!  Join in the fun for Ice Cream and Karaoke on Monday, June 10th at 1 p.m. Tickets are just $3 or bring a friend at 2 for $5. 

Life is in the Blood - Wednesday, June 12, 2 p.m. Blood Analyst, Debi McArthur will analyze a drop of blood to show what different cells in the blood look like, what they mean and how we can be healthier.  A very fascinating, not to miss seminar!  FREE

Movie Day at the Snack Bar - Tuesday, June 14, 11 a.m. Watch a FREE movie and get a great deal on lunch for $2.50!

Two Man Show - These two men aren’t just great performers, but they have really big hearts. Jay Wygant and Mike Furman will be performing at the Gulfport Multipurpose Senior Center in the dining Hall on Wednesday, June 26 at 1:30 p.m. for the very 1st Two Man Show. This event is to support the Senior Center Pantry and those seniors in need, especially in the slow summer months. The price of the ticket is to bring in non-perishable goods to the Center. Room is limited, so get your seat early to see these great performers who were Brighthouse Idol finalist.  Thanks Jay and Mike for sharing your fantastic voices with us at the Center! SPECIAL SERVICES 

G.E.M.S.  Gulfport Extended Mobility Service: Affordable transportation for Gulfport residents 55 and over. $65 annual membership.  $2 per ride and your ride to the Senior Center is FREE!.  Go to the mall, grocery store, doctor’s appointments and more. Call 727-893-2242 for more information.

Fitness Center Schedule: Monday - Thursday: 8:00 am – 7:00 pm, Friday: 8:00 am -3:30 p.m.  Annual sign up for the Fitness Center is an affordable $25 a year or $40 a couple.  

Snack Bar: Bring a friend to the Senior Center and enjoy a light breakfast for only $2.50 or lunch for only $3.00.  In a hurry? Order a boxed lunch-to-go by calling 893-2259. Great food! Great prices! 

FREE Legal Help for people over 60 and meet the required income criteria: Community Law Program visits the Senior Center every 3rd Friday of the month at 10 a.m.  Call 727-582-7480 to see if you qualify.   

AARP Driving Classes are offered June 4 and 11 at 12:45pm. Must attend both days. $12 for AARP member and $14 for non-member. Call 893-1231 or 893-2237 to register.
