Gulfport Waives Sewer Impact Fees

Councilman Dan Liedtke wants to try waiving city sewer impact fees for Gulfport over the next year. Councilman Liedtke says he hopes waiving such fees would give Gulfport an edge in attracting new business.

“I’m for economic development,” Councilwoman Barbara Banno said of the idea. The city charges sewer impact fees for any business or residential new bathroom construction involving a new toilet or bidet.

Only Councilwoman Jennifer Salmon voted against waiving the fees. Council will revisit the waiver next year. Such fees generate roughly $5,000 for Gulfport.
