Gulfport's IT Needs

Q: With the IT Director gone, what is the city doing to replace him? Will it use a consultant or hire a new full time director?

A: Right now, Library Administrator David Mather “is capably filling in as needed in providing IT support,” City Manager Jim O’Reilly says. Gulfport’s Administrative Services Director (Finance) and a consultant are auditing and evaluating the city’s hardware and software assets, he adds. Finally, the city clerk and department directors will tell the consultant what IT needs they have. Once the consultant completes the work, the city manager will decide which course of action Gulfport should take – in-house staff or contracted IT help – to best serve the city.
