Holy Name “Oktoberfest”
October is a month synonymous with fun, festival, laughter, music, dancing, good food and beer; so come join them at Most Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church at 5800 15 Avenue S. in Gulfport from October 20 to October 23. Hank Shaw will be spinning tunes between the live entertainment line-up: Fri., Oct. 21 enjoy the sounds of Gulfport’s own “Urban Gypsies” from 7-10 p.m.; Sat., Oct. 22 “KingTrump and Friend” will entertain you from 8-10 p.m.; Sun., Oct. 23 Jim Brady formerly of “Loggins and Messina” will keep you rocking throughout the evening from 5-7:30 p.m.
Take a chance on the midway games and rides where your heart will skip a beat, stroll through the arts and crafts fair in the air conditioning of the Maria Center and make several passes through the outside food court featuring taste tempting flavors of Latin America, Mexico, Poland, Italy and the good US of A (B-B-Que). They have libations for the tea totter and more sensitive pallet, the kids and of course what would an “Oktoberfest” be without Ye Old Beer truck. Take a day off and relax, let the kids play in the Kiddy Corral and the kids of all ages enjoy a game of checkers, chess or dominoes. Visit with your friends and let your cares and troubles take a vacation. Remember there is the famous “Bing Ball” for all ages, the Grand Prize of $2,500, 50/50 and the Raffle Baskets. They look forward to seeing you all there and joining in the fun.
