Island Festival 2013
This year’s street fair Festival will serve as the kick off for Gulf Beaches Historical Museum’s 20th anniversary! On March 2nd from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Museum plays host once again to a celebration of island culture that can only be found in our south beach communities. Join County and City officials as they commemorate 20 years of all volunteer service to the community.
Music by the Eckerd College Lifelong Learning Institute’s “New Horizons Band” and the “St. Pete Shanties” who sing the songs that sailors, fishermen, and dockworkers sang with a special Florida emphasis.
The Florida Suncoast MG Car Club will show collectors cars. The car club, organized in 1980, is the most active British car club in the Tampa Bay area.
Special character appearance by legendary hermit Silas Dent and walking tours led by costumed docents. See the new exhibit, a tribute to the now defunct St. Pete Beach Police Dept. and visit with the Museum’s version of “officer friendly”. Art, craft and treasure vendors, including the Museums own “Treasure Table” will be present.
The Museum is located at 115 10th Ave., Pass-a-Grille, St. Pete Beach. Always free admission. Call 727-552-1610 or visit www.gulfbeachesmuseum.com.
