Meals on Wheels Needs Drivers
For thousands of Pinellas County elderly, the Neighborly Care Network Meals on Wheels program is a pivotal part of daily life. Volunteers allow the Meals on Wheels program to continue. But recently, some volunteers have had to cut back due to high gas prices and many of our winter visitors have returned home, leaving the program in critical need for volunteers all over Pinellas County.
Volunteers spend just two hours of your time, midday, once a week. Most routes have only 10 to 12 stops and are just 8 to 10 miles long. Meals are picked up at a site near you and delivered to the homebound in your area (maps and directions are provided). Do someone else a favor and you will be doing yourself one! We are confident that if you try it once, you’ll be back!
