Not Just Speedos at Second Santa Speedo Run

The Second Annual Santa Speedo Run in Gulfport saw an increase over last year, with runners and fundraising both reaching new levels. The Santa Speedo Run raises money for HIV and AIDS-related programs.
Event organizer Jay Aller said the event, which had over 100 runners, had raised almost $30,000 before race day, although later contributions pushed that number over $30,000. The race started at Clymer Park; runners raced down Beach Boulevard, turned left at Shore, and ended their one-mile run at O’Maddy’s.
Many runners, like Mr. Walsh, said they weren’t “in it to win it” but to raise money and awareness. Mr. Aller told the Gabber that anyone who still wished to make a donation to Brighter Seasons for Children could do so at ASAP (AIDS Servives of Pinellas) headquarters, located at 3050 1st Avenue South in St. Petersburg.
