Operation Crack Back Brings Arrests to Midlevel Beach Drug Dealers

 
Last Thursday night beach police and sheriff’s deputies made 14 drug-related arrests on St. Pete Beach. The arrests were part of a now-concluding “Operation Crack Back,” a joint effort between the  St. Pete Beach police and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

According to St. Pete Beach Captain Dean Horianopolous, Operation Crack Back was “a joint narcotic investigation aimed at midlevel drug dealers living within the city limits of St. Pete Beach.”  Captain Horianopolous noted that “numerous concerned citizens of St. Pete Beach also assisted with various aspects of, and at various stages of the investigation.”
Police hoped to locate and/or arrest 22 suspects. Of those 22 suspects, police made the 14 arrests. The other eight suspects remain at large and officers continue to look for them.

Police arrested and charged the following people:

Mary J. Blair: Possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia
Debra S. Westfall: Sale and possession/ trafficking of hydrocodone
Laurence A. Huff: Sale and Possession of oxycodone
Michael C. Cozzzi: Trafficking in oxycodone
Peter Sarafin III: Sale and possession of Xanax – Dispensing without a license
John Risener: Sale and possession of marijuana
Walter S. Willard: Dispensing medication without a license

Sale and Possession of Crack Cocaine or Cocaine
Bobby N. Peterson
Terrance Boston
Anthony T. Robinson
Jacqueline Stewart (also sale and possession of marijuana)
Dany Clum (two counts)
John F. Morgan
Elvis Lambert (two counts)

It is time for the SPB city commission to get quotes from the sheriff for taking over and disbanding the SPB police. Then put it to a vote and see whether the residents want to bring in the sheriff and save all that money or keep the ameteurs we call a police department.
