PASS-A-GRILLE – St. Pete Beach Commissioner Beverly “Bev” Garnett has told the Gabber she will not seek re-election when her current term expires in March. Commissioner Garnett holds the seat for District Four, which includes Pass-A-Grille.
The commissioner cited “personal reasons” for her decision.
“I truly have enjoyed it, and I love meeting with people, working with people” she said from her volunteer post at this past weekend’s “100 Artists” show at the city’s Horan Park. “It breaks my heart in a way, but we have to make hard choices in life.”
The only other office in St. Pete Beach up for election is District Two, currently occupied by Commissioner Jim Parent. Commissioner Parent ran unopposed in his last election and will neither confirm nor deny his intentions for the coming election.
