City council will wait on replacing the partially-deconstructed pier pavilion in front of O’Maddy’s on Shore Boulevard. City staff presented several options for rebuilding the open-air structure, all funded with Penny for Pinellas money.
“I think we can take this money and reinvest it someplace else,” Councilwoman Barbara Banno said. Councilwoman Banno, who represents the area of the city that includes the pavilion, told her fellow councilmembers that she had heard from several area residents and businesses who felt the city could better reinvest the money.
City council will remove the standing pilings and not replace the structure at this time.
