St. Pete Beach Christmas Trees and Trash Collection

Q: How should I get rid of my Christmas tree? Should I put it by the curb Monday?

A: According to St. Pete Beach Public Works Director Steve Hallock, St. Pete Beach residents can put their Christmas trees on the curb on any regularly scheduled trash collection day.
“Our solid waste provider, Waste Services of Florida, will pick it up,” Hallock says.
Waste Services takes all Christmas trees to Pinellas County’s Waste-to-Energy facility. Once at the facility, the county will incinerate the trees and sell the energy generated back to Progress Energy.
