Q: How many people have been hit by cars while crossing Gulf Boulevard (this year)? How many fatalities has the city had?
A: So far this year, St. Pete Beach city manager Mike Bonfield says, the city has had three reported times when someone hit a pedestrian trying to cross Gulf Boulevard. In two of these accidents, the pedestrian died.
St. Pete Beach has a variable sign it positions at crosswalks (currently on Blind Pass Road and 77th Street) to remind cars to stop for people in crosswalks.
