St. Pete Police Chief Finalists: A Message from Mayor Kriseman | st. pete, petersburg, police, chief, kriseman,Assistant,Melanie, Bevan, Jerry,Geier,Captain,Terrence,Pierce,Thaddeus,Reddish.

St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman announced the four finalists for St. Petersburg Chief of Police on Thursday, June 5.

They are St. Petersburg Assistant Chief Melanie Bevan; Goodyear, Arizona Police Chief Jerry Geier; Montgomery County, Maryland Police Captain Terrence Pierce; and New Haven, Connecticut Assistant Police Chief Thaddeus Reddish.

“After much feedback and deliberation, I have selected these four names as potential candidates to lead our police department,” Kriseman said. “Public safety is job one for me, and choosing the right person to lead our men and women who keep us safe every day is one of the most important decisions I’ll make as mayor. A common theme I have heard from police officers, members of the community, and my own team with respect to a new police chief was ‘leadership’ – I believe these four candidates embody that leadership. I look forward to introducing these candidates to our police personnel, and to the citizens of the Sunshine City.”

An opportunity for St. Petersburg residents, business owners, and police personnel to meet the finalists will be scheduled later this month.
