Special Announcements:
Transportation Fair: Mark your calendar now for Wed. Mar. 24 at 1:30pm. Guest speaker Sue Samson from the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Inc. will address transportation issues pertaining to seniors. Ms. Samson has much expertise in this area and will shed light on the importance of knowing when it’s time to consider other transportation alternatives. Area transportation vendors will also be on hand to share specifics about their services. Vendors include GEMS, PSTA, DART, Neighborly Care Network, EZ Ride, Metropolitan Transportation Organization, Wheelchair Transport, etc. Light refreshments will be provided.
$1 per Mile: Senior Center Foundation Board Vice President Mike Calamari is running for money! That’s right! He’s running to benefit the Gulfport Senior Center. The 30K (18 miles) Canadian Race will be held in Ontario, Canada on March 29. You can be a part of this, too, by pledging $1 per mile (or any amount). Donations will be accepted at the Senior Center. Checks should be made payable to the Gulfport Multipurpose Senior Center Foundation, Inc. (RACE)or visit the Foundation website at www.gulfportseniorfoundation.org and make a donation thru PayPal. The Steve Wayne Show: Back by popular demand “Steve Wayne” will wow you with a sterling performance you won’t want to miss. Elder Consumer Protection Expo: Stetson University College of Law will be offering free materials and services to promote knowledge about consumer protection related matters on Tues. “Diabetic 101”: Recently diagnosed with Diabetes? Feeling a bit overwhelmed with how to manage it? Come to a special presentation on Mon. Mar. 29 at 10am. Maureen Sulllivan-Tevault, R.N. from Edward White Hospital will provide the presentation and answer any questions you may have.
