Traffic Calming Coming to Gulfport?

Citing resident concerns about speeding and excessive traffic, Gulfport city council heard a presentation about traffic calming solutions Tuesday night. Several residents stood and asked the city to take steps; a consultant spoke about the possible programs. A new traffic study would cost the city $9,000 and two speed humps would add another $6,000 to the total.

The council will discuss the idea further at a future workshop.
